She wanted to help.............
...please note that it is never too early to learn to be self-sufficient in our household and learn to change a tire. Ed also has a video of this at-home-with-your-kids-activity, which we're working on posting for your viewing pleasure.
I'm not sure if I've ever seen Ed so excited about showing me pictures and video footage of what they did that day. (But I admit, given I was nickmamed "Mrs. Goodwrench" in college, I'm pretty proud too!)

....all day it was difficult to really grasp the emotions that I am sure to feel this evening....such great joy or tremendous sorrow which I'm certain will lead to even worse feelings.
I did really take in my time voting and stopped to "take it all in" when I was at the pools. I just wish our children were old enough to grasp the importance of voting today and all that it means for our country!
Can't wait to get our results.
I wish we could be with our friends & family this evening as Ed & I are listening to NPR, watching the maps on line and (yes, we even have a (borrowed!) TV on, [though we have the volume turned down...at least until we hear some speeches later tonight!]
Happy results for everyone as the night progresses!

.....so, I'm at work yesterday and I get an email from my good friend Rob (http://palmer.vox.com/) with the following text and picture:
"It's ok, we'll feed him and give him a blanket at night."
Is this normal? Would all good friends send this to a mother at work? Apparently, Ed figured out that Camden had gone through the bars with his body and then couldn't get his head out...so, Ed helped him get his body back through the bars...the way he went in.
Very funny Rob...I'll get you back!

....or to steal a line from Ellie's Blog..."tap, tap, this thing still on?"
Since our last post.....this is what has been going on, hence our lack of posts (too busy):
- prep house to sell it
- sell it in 2 days....didn't even make it to MLS
- make offer on a house we want to buy
- offer for new house gets accepted
- do inspection on house we want to buy
- start looking for furnished rental for one month to bridge 2 houses
- inspection finds more work than we expected, decide not to buy it
- look for seasonal, furnished rental
- decide not to rent seasonally, so we don't *have* to move in Spring
- look for house for rent for as short-term as possible (6-9 mos)
- find house to rent w/9 month lease
- Isabelle starts a new pre-school
- boat flips (sinks) on mooring; Ed spends 1/2 of a Sunday in harbor trying to right it and get out of water
- move to rental house
- Isabelle breaks arm; spend Sat PM in ER (she's ok: in a sling and expected to be fine w/in another few weeks)
- sell (close on) (old) house
- start unpacking
So, there you have it......now that we don't own a house and thus have any "projects" to do (except fix the boat), we anticipate a slower pace of life and maybe we'll actually relax a little and maybe, just maybe, even socialize and even go so far as entertain!
Stay tuned!

Don't ever think that we limit our children from doing the fun stuff. Yes, Isabelle is driving the boat, Ed is taking the picture and you can see that she is clearly taking it seriously. Other pictures have a better view of the white surf going by.
Camden, on the other hand, well, he couldn't quite see the road, so we'll wait a few years on that one!
