Isabelle found a hole in the stairs to our second floor. Not surprising, as there are probably hundreds of them. There must have been something special about this hole. She felt it needed to be "fixed". So fix it she did. I suppose she figured that if the fix didn't take, that she would, at least, deter people from stepping on the offending hole!
Good work Peanut! Picking up those handy genes!
Our friend Beanie gave us a roll of Judy's (Beanie's mom) cookie dough. We're now realizing that we don't know if Beanie made the dough from Judy's recipe, or if Judy produced the dough. Regardless - a great gift! Especially for a family with a two year old.
Now being the implementer of said cookie baking project, I made an executive decision and chose to disregard the directions that involved rolling out the dough on a floured surface and using cookie cutters for fun shapes. I know it sounds like I'm a party pooper, but I figured that four kinds of loose sugar decorations (which were part of the thoughtful gift), shortening, a paint brush and an egg white could do plenty of damage without introducing a rolling pin and fistfuls of flour (which is awesome for turning our floor into a veritable skating rink and when we're done skating turns into glue once wet! We've tried it!) I decided that just cutting the roll into disks would be just fine. So Pop (Ed's dad) showed up, and we went to town. She had a great time greasing the pan, placing the cut cookies on the pan, "painting" them with the egg whites, and of course adding her personal artistic elegance to each "piece".
We cooked em' and they were good!
Thanks Beanie and Judy!
Isabelle turned 2 on November 19th and we celebrated on Saturday after Thanksgiving when all of her grandparents would be in town! When Grampy showed up with balloons, Isabelle quickly, very generously distributed each balloon to each guest based on their favorite colors: Blue for Grammy, Yellow for Lou Lou, Orange for Grampy and so on. She was very happy!
